Justine Damico.


Varsity Softball, Head Coach

Biography:

EDUCATION: Coach Damico is a 2011 graduate of Burrell High School and holds degrees in Finance and Economics from Penn State Behrend.

 

BIO & EXPERIENCE:

Coach Damico began playing softball in 6th grade and continued through college, eventually becoming a WPIAL champion. During her time as a third baseman and clutch power hitter, Coach Damico saw many wins and losses. These experiences taught her the importance of enjoying the game while also handling both victories and defeats as learning experiences. 

 

Though this is her first year coaching softball, Coach Damico praises the top-notch coaches of her past in helping her gain insights into the game and beyond. She recognizes the profound impact coaches can have on young athletes and is excited to begin this new chapter. During this year’s practices and games, Coach Damico will emphasize that effort is everything. Attitude is all that matters. Confidence is key. 

 

SPORT INFO:

Spartan Softball is a Spring sport, beginning practice sessions in late February. The official season will kick off in late March. Their home field is at Highlands High School fields in Natrona Heights, PA.

Nathan Hill.


Varsity Softball, Assistant Coach

Biography:

EDUCATION: Coach Hill graduated from Highlands High School and then went on to college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. 

 

BIO & EXPERIENCE:

Having been an athlete since grade school, Coach Hill has an extensive background in baseball, basketball, and football - which he also played throughout his high school career. Before graduating, Coach Hill was invited to try out for several Major League Baseball teams but chose to continue his education and play Division 1 college baseball as a pitcher. Coach Hill is a two-time medalist at the Keystone State Games, earning a gold and bronze medal as the winning pitcher in each event. 

 

Coach Hill has years of coaching experience, beginning with tee-ball and continuing through his most recent role at Saint Joseph High School, where he has been for the past two years. He is passionate about teaching and sharing his knowledge of the game. Coach Hill emphasizes to his athletes that sports build character both on and off the field. He believes that hard work and perseverance pay off and are key to success in both sports and life.
