Biography:

EDUCATION: Coach Ashley graduated from Shaler Area High School in 2012 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Public Relations from Robert Morris University in 2016.

BIO & EXPERIENCE:

Ever since she was young, Coach Ashley knew she loved playing sports and staying active. Though she started out cheering for Guyasuta youth football and playing softball she soon learned her true love was basketball. She went on to play the sport for 12 years, beginning at CDTCA and continuing through high school at Shaler. During her junior year in 2011, she helped lead her team to a WPIAL 4A Championship victory. Due to these athletic achievements, Coach Ashley and her teammates were inducted into the Shaler Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023. 

Coach Ashley has extensive coaching experience in girls basketball at both the high school and AAU levels. From 2019 to 2020, she served as the assistant coach for both the JV and Varsity girls basketball teams at South Park High School. There the Varsity team earned three consecutive section championships and advanced to the second round of the WPIAL playoffs, while the JV team celebrated an undefeated season.  

In 2023, she began coaching with Team Cure AAU, working with 7th and 9th-grade girls. This past Spring, the 10th-grade team went on a 14-game win streak, capping off their success with strong finishes in tournaments. Most recently, Coach Ashley was the assistant JV and Varsity coach at Aquinas Academy for the 2023-2024 season. Her JV team finished with an impressive 15-1 record, while the Varsity team reached the WPIAL semi-finals before being eliminated by none other than the Saint Joseph High School Spartans. 

SPORT INFO:

Spartan Girls Basketball starts open gym practice sessions in the Fall with the official season kicking off in November. The team also regularly participates in a Fall league and Summer league. Their home gym is at Saint Joseph High School, Walter Dlubak Athletic Center.
