Biography:

EDUCATION: Coach Mitchell is a graduate of Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School in Miami, Florida. Upon graduation, she pursued a premed track in psychology at the University of Miami before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh, where she completed her studies. 

 

Although originally on the path to medical school with plans to attend Tufts School of Medicine to become a general surgeon, Coach Mitchell ultimately chose a different direction. She earned a master's in psychology from Chatham University and now applies her expertise in her work as a marriage and family therapist.

 

BIO & EXPERIENCE:

Coach Mitchell is an experienced coach of 22 years with a strong background in cheerleading. She began her coaching career shortly after high school, only taking a break to focus on her medical school aspirations. She later shifted her focus to becoming a therapist and returned to coaching. 

 

Coach Mitchell has been with Mary Queen of Apostles School for four years and has spent the last two years coaching at SJHS. A former competitive cheerleader with TopGun Allstars Miami, she firmly believes that “the mind is a powerful tool, don’t underestimate it.” 

 

SPORT INFO:

Spartan Cheerleading starts open gym practice sessions in the Fall with the official season kicking off in November. Their home gym is at Saint Joseph High School, Walter Dlubak Athletic Center.
